MOSCOW, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Russia's flag-carrier Aeroflot announced on Tuesday that over 90 percent of its scheduled flights to and from Moscow would resume operations, a day after its information systems were hacked.

"As of today, 93 percent of flights to and from Moscow are scheduled to operate according to the original timetable -- 216 round-trip flights out of 233," the carrier stated.

Previously, a hacker attack disrupted Aeroflot's information systems, prompting Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport to cancel or delay dozens of flights.

On July 28, the airline operated approximately 80 percent of its planned daily flights.

"Schedule adjustments, including cancellations, mainly affected flights from Moscow and back," the carrier said, adding that its website was functioning correctly and there were no failures in the flight booking system.

Russia's General Prosecutor's Office has taken control of the situation at Sheremetyevo Airport and reported that a criminal case has been opened over unauthorized access to computer information.

Anton Gorelkin, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, called on major Russian companies not to ease efforts to ensure digital security after the Aeroflot attack.

"We simply need our large companies to recognize that an information war is being waged against us," Gorelkin said. He noted that the digital component of war is evolving today, will continue to advance, and will dominate future military conflicts.
