DUSHANBE, July 29 (Xinhua) -- A total of 3.1 tonnes of narcotic substances were seized in Tajikistan in the first half of 2025, up 10.4 kilograms from the same period in 2024, the press service of the Drug Control Agency under the President of Tajikistan said on Tuesday.
According to the agency, 54.4 percent of the drugs were detected and seized at the border with Afghanistan.
The amount of seized psychotropic substances increased by 85 percent, reaching 155.5 kilograms, it said.
During that period, 534 drug-related crimes were registered in the country, compared to 419 during the same period in 2024, it added. ■
